NaR’dah / Nudgee Waterholes

Blaklash worked closely with Larrakia, Wardaman, and Karajarri artist, Jenna Lee, and Cultural Consultant, Madonna Thomson, to realise a site-specific artwork - Nar’dah at the Nudgee Waterhole.

Blaklash was engaged by Brisbane City Council to manage the design and delivery of public art for the space, responding to the site and region’s cultural history and knowledge.

The end result was the integration of corten steel language pillars and an interactive seating moment, including sand-blasted poetry and bespoke cast-concrete seating elements, into the public realm as a way of weaving the cultural context of place throughout.
